National Preparedness Month (NPM)

September marks the start of the annual campaign to remind everyone that preparing for emergencies and disasters can keep them, their families, and their communities safe.

The increase in disasters across the country and in our own Region 10 states in recent years reminds us how essential it is to be informed, have an emergency plan, build a kit, and get involved in your community.

This year’s theme is “Starting a Conversation.” Start a conversation today with your family about simple steps you can take such as the above. You can hear more from FEMA Administrator Criswell on this year’s focus on Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities.
